A Success Story: Newborn Oral Surgery

Last month we made a blog post about the new Biolase WaterLase iPlus, which we are really excited about having in our office—and for good reason.

A pediatrician in our area contacted us recently, looking for a referral for an oral surgeon to perform surgery on the mouth of a newborn who was having trouble nursing.

Fortunately, because we had acquired this amazing new technology that the Biolase offers, we could actually do the entire procedure right here in the office without having the infant undergo all the processes that going to an oral surgeon would require.

The baby was brought into our office, and after consulting with the parents and evaluating the infant, we found that we were able to do the surgery that day.

The surgery was a fantastic success, with very little discomfort to to the baby, and did not require the use of any anesthesia (which can be a concern for parents of newborns).

The Biolase WaterLase iPlus surgery also prevented post-op bleeding, complications, and any other problems that can typically surface with traditional oral surgery.

We’ve recently received news that the baby is now nursing without any trouble and is doing wonderfully.

We are so grateful that we were able to provide such a stress-free experience to both the infant and the parents, and we couldn’t be happier with our Biolase.

Come in or give us a call to see what it can do for you!

Our office was hit hard by water damage from a burst pipe. We're working hard on getting our services back online ASAP. We'll be contacting families next week to schedule appointments.
