Got Candy? Want Cash? You’re in Luck!

Halloween Candy

I know it’s odd to think about, but can a dentist really be on-board with trick-or-treating? Absolutely! It’s a fun tradition that our kids look forward to all year! So much so that I’d never suggest kids stop participating for the sake of their dental health!

However, my willingness to embrace the trick-or-treating frenzy doesn’t go without a bit of back-handed plotting and planning! Many parents wonder what should be done to head off the incoming disaster of sugar…

So, exactly how do we deal with the inevitable horde of candy our kids are bound to come home with on Halloween?

Donate it. That’s right! It may seem a bit unconventional to “donate” one’s hard-earned Halloween candy, but the best thing your kids can do with all that candy is to donate it!

And we can help!

17th Annual Flower Mound Candy Buy-Back

Here are all the need-to-know details about our 17th Annual Flower Mound Candy Buy-Back event:

When: November 1st – 4th

Where: Dr. Duffy’s office

2701 Old Settlers Road

Flower Mound, TX 75022

What: We want to buy your unopened Halloween candy for $1 per pound. We also request that you bring a donation for Operation Christmas Child.

We need items like school supplies, toys, and clothing that can fit into a shoe box.

It’s no secret, kids love to trick-or-treat, and parents (and dentists) want to prevent their children from entering a sugar-induced coma. Our annual candy buy-back is the perfect solution! All of the candy we collect will then be donated to Operation Christmas Child, an organization that helps millions of kids in need around the world. And who doesn’t feel great about giving?

Not only do our children enjoy the fun in racing from house to house in anticipation of the next best treat, but it also teaches them the life-long gift of giving; however small or large their contribution may be.

On Monday, October 31st we will be making balloon animals and hosting face painting for anyone that has an appointment or wants to just stop by. Anyone who comes in their costume will also get a special prize! Hope to see you all soon!

Have a safe, and happy Halloween, too!
