No More Drills or Needles

You may have seen a new machine here if you’ve come in for any treatments or procedures lately, and it has the office all abuzz!

This new machine is called the Biolase WaterLase iPlus, and it’s paving the way for simpler, more efficient, and virtually painless treatments that we can perform right here in our office in a fraction of the time.

The Latest and Greatest Technology

Biolase uses a unique laser wavelength and user-controlled distribution process of atomized water particles to target specific tissue.

Strong mechanical force from rapid water expansion induces separation of surface material to quickly and cleanly remove hard tooth tissue.

For soft tissue, the laser can be programmed to make an incision, extraction, ablation, and even allow for coagulation using direct laser energy with or without water for cooling and hydration, which means less bleeding and faster recovery time.

The water laser is so painless that to reassure their patients and make them more comfortable, some doctors have demonstrated it by spraying a harmless stream of water onto their patients’ hands from a couple of inches away.

Versatility Is Key

Before acquiring this new machine, we had some limitations in what procedures we could do completely in-house. We occasionally had to send our patients to an oral surgeon, who had to perform the procedures in a hospital-like setting.

Here are just a few of the things we can now do completely in our office with the new Biolase machine:

  • Infant and child frenectomy
  • Exposure of unerupted teeth
  • Cavity preparation
  • Vital pulpotomy
  • Sealand and PRR preparation and etching
  • Fillings
  • Removal of decay
  • Gum lifts and reshaping
  • Dentin and enamel procedures
  • And much more!

The differences between the Biolase laser and the drill are almost unfair to mention (unfair to the drill, that is).

  • Here is a short list of the benefits the Biolase offers:
  • Less bleeding during and after the procedures
  • No scary noise, odd vibrations, or heat
  • Fewer number of dental visits overall
  • Stronger bonding of fillings
  • Post-surgical infection is greatly reduced
  • Precision accuracy for better results
  • Less anxiety for the kids

So rather than the painful drills and needles that were needed in the past, we are able to do most of the same treatments right here in the office, and virtually pain-free.

Imagine never having anxiety about going to the dentist again!

We could go on and on about all the benefits our new laser offers, but we think you get the idea.

Our office was hit hard by water damage from a burst pipe. We're working hard on getting our services back online ASAP. We'll be contacting families next week to schedule appointments.
