What Can WaterLase Do For You?

WaterLase is the number one pediatric laser. And, we have it! WaterLase is made by BioLase, the global leader in Dental Lasers.

Debra Duffy WaterLase

We use WaterLase for fillings, preventative resins, and soft tissue repair. So, how can Waterlase benefit your child?

WaterLase Benefits

The WaterLase allows us to only use topical anesthetic. No more Novocaine shots. No more drill.  No more sutures. A far faster recovery time, and no more pain!

Just a very precise laser and water.

As most kids are leaving our office after a WaterLase procedure, their topical anesthetic is already wearing off. Moms and kids are smiling about that!

For a Faster, More Precise Frenectomy

A frenectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the frenum, the soft connecting tissue between the upper or lower lip and gum line, as well as under the tongue.

There are two common types of frenectomies:

  1. A Labial Frenectomy is the tissue that connects the lip to the gum line. If left unchecked, the tissue can cause the gums to recede and create gaps between front teeth. Sometimes seniors being fitted for dentures will require a labial frenectomy for a better denture fit.
  2. A Lingual Frenectomy inhibits the movement of the tongue which can inhibit an infant’s ability to feed properly. This is most common in babies. It’s also called a “tongue-clipping” which just sounds mean!

Actually, we recently used our WaterLase to do a frenectomy on an infant who was having trouble breast feeding. The surgery went quickly. The recovery time was fast. And, we were able to help this sweet little baby eat better and easier! This is the part of our job that is super rewarding!

Ask about our WaterLase treatment at your next appointment. Our patients love it and we think you will too!

A Healthy Mouth is a Happy Mouth!

Our office was hit hard by water damage from a burst pipe. We're working hard on getting our services back online ASAP. We'll be contacting families next week to schedule appointments.
