Can you use your Flexible Spending Account for dental care?

We get this question a lot. The answer is yes. Yes, you can! But, you must use it in the same calendar year.

We understand that the health of your children’s teeth is a huge investment. We also understand that deciphering insurance paperwork seems to take an advanced degree and an awful lot of patience.

The Flexible Spending Account is a great money saver – using pre-tax dollars to pay for exams can save you bundles over the course of the year. But, if you don’t use this money – the only one that benefits is the giant insurance companies. There is no need to pay them more than you already do.

Open enrollment for 2015 is just around the corner. If you have not yet, it might be wise to set aside some funds for next years dental visits.
