This is the time of year that everyone starts making lists about all the New Years Resolutions they want to make. Gym memberships skyrocket. We vow to eat healthier, lose weight, get more sleep…
One of the quickest ways to see huge results in our bodies – and our oral health – is to drink more water. Consider this a low expense life hack.
Why Should You Drink More Water?
There are so many benefits to adding the correct amount of water to your daily routine. Water rehydrates the skin and makes our hair shiney. It rinses out the mouth and is totally sugar and calorie free. Did you know that the right amount of water also fights sickness and fatigue? It sure does – it rinses away bacteria and toxins. Water, quite literally, cleanses your entire system.
How Much Water is Enough?
We’ve all heard the advice – drink eight cups per day. This doesn’t take into consideration certain factors like your activity level, age or climate that you live in… But, the Mayo Clinic did a study on it and found that the average adult female should be drinking nine cups per day while the average adult male needs about 13 cups per day.
If that sounds like a big resolution, work toward that goal, drinking a little more each day will condition your body to take in all that healthy hydration. Before long, those nine cups will be easy!
Let’s raise our water glasses to a healthy new year in 2015!
A Healthy Mouth is a Happy Mouth!
